How do I install an Adaptxt Add-On?

To install an Add-On dictionary that has already been downloaded to your device, go to Adaptxt Options > Add-On Mgr. Highlight an Add-On from the list and select Options > Install. Follow the online instructions.

How do I install Adaptxt?

Transfer Adaptxt to your Nokia phone using Nokia Application Installer (included in Nokia PC Suite) and a Nokia Connectivity Cable or Bluetooth wireless connection.
Follow the on-screen instructions.
Note: Adaptxt does not currently support running from an external memory card.

What does PIM mean?

PIM stands for "Personal Information Management". PIM allows Adaptxt to learn your personal data by scanning Calendar entries, Phonebook contacts, SMS and E-mail Inbox and Sent items.

Go to Adaptxt Options>PIM to open the PIM menu. The PIM menu has 4 tabs. Press the left or right arrow keys to navigate between these tabs.

On the PIM tab (first tab), the following options are available:

Scan Calendar: Scans all the calendar entries
Scan SMS: Scans SMS messages received from the contacts added on the SMS tab (second tab).
Scan E-mail: Scans e-mails received from the e-mail IDs added on the E-mail tab (third tab).
Scan Domain: Scans e-mails received from the domains added on the Domain tab (last tab).
Scan on Event: This option is automatically selected after the Scan Now process is complete. The Scan on Event scans the marked items when they are updated. For example, if Scan Contacts is marked along with Scan on Event, whenever new contacts are added to the phone, they are scanned.

To mark or unmark an item, highlight it and press the joystick. Only the marked items are scanned.

Select Options>Scan Now to scan the marked items. An initial scan should be made to ensure all the data is learnt by Adaptxt.

The SMS and E-mail Sent items are scanned and learnt in real-time when the text is entered. Unread e-mails and draft SMS messages will not be scanned.

During the scan, Adaptxt is in maintenance mode and only Mulitap mode is available for text input

How do I scan my Facebook profile?

Go to Adaptxt Options>Social to open the Social menu.

Highlight the Facebook option and select Options>Scan Now to scan your Facebook profile. Connect to the network and follow the online instructions to log on to Facebook.

How do I buy an Adapxt Add-On?

Access and open the fast menu on your device, then select Buy Add-Ons or go to Adaptxt Options > Buy Add-Ons. A page opens with a link to connect to the Adaptxt Mobile Portal. Follow the online instructions.

How do I obtain my IMEI number?

To view your IMEI number, insert the following combination into your phone: *#06#

Do I need to buy Adaptxt for my Nokia S60 Smartphone?

No, Adaptxt for the Nokia S60 Smartphone is a FREE BETA version. This means you can download the application for a trial period of 30 Days.

After 25 days, you will be notified that you require a licence key to unlock the Adaptxt Beta version. Once registered, a licence key will be emailed to yourself immediately.

After receiving your licence key, go to Adaptxt Options > Options > License Product and enter the licence key in the required field.

Is my smartphone compatible with Adaptxt?

Adaptxt does not currently support all Nokia S60 Smartphone devices. Please see the list below for compatible devices:

Select Exit.
Adaptxt has closed.

The License Key for my dictionary package does not work. What's wrong?

Adaptxt contains a dictionary with your native (primary) language. You do not need to install a dictionary package for your native (primary) language. If you have a problem installing a license key for a second language, please visit http://support.adaptxt.com/.

What version of Adaptxt am I using?

To view the version of Adaptxt on your Nokia S60 Smartphone:

Access the Fast menu.
Select Options.
Select About.
Adaptxt displays your version information.

How to adopt words with Adaptxt

Adaptxt gives you a Suggestion Window. Whether you use Multitap or a Predictive input mode, Adaptxt will offer you suggestions.

Use your joystick arrow keys to navigate up or down to select different suggestions.

Select right on the joystick arrow key to add a word.

You can select words at any time. So you can add a word before you type a letter or you can add a word to complete the word you are currently typing.

As you use Adaptxt, the word suggestions change because Adaptxt is learning your unique writing style. The word suggestions will become increasingly accurate.

Switching between predictive, multitap, capitals & symbols

Use Adaptxt with three distinct entry modes, namely Predictive, Multitap, and Numeric. An icon at the top right corner of the screen displays the current mode.

Tips:
- Double-tap the # key to switch between Predictive and Multitap mode.

- Press and hold the # key to switch between one of the text modes and Numerical entry mode.

- Tap # to switch between UPPERcase and lowercase

- Tap * to view symbols

Scanning your inbox and PIM apps

Boost the accuracy of word suggestions by scanning PIM and inbox apps. This content is added to the Personal dictionary for personal, relevant word suggestions.

- Go to Adaptxt Options (if writing text, hold * and select Options OR go to your phone Home Screen >Applications > Adaptxt).

- Select PIM > Select Options (bottom left) > Tap "Scan Now"

- Adaptxt quickly stores content from PIM and inbox in the Personal Dictionary.

Prioritise your SEE 2009 dictionary suggestions

If you want more Symbian related suggestions and mobile IT&Telco terminology and acronyms, then prioritise this above the English dictionary.

To re-prioritise dictionary suggestions:

- Go to Adaptxt Options (if writing text, hold * and select Options OR go to your phone Home Screen >Applications > Adaptxt).

- Select Language and scroll down to SEE 2009

- hit > Options (bottom left) and then >Move Up

- hit > back and save changes
